I am a professional interpreter and translator from and to Spanish, English and Czech. With passion and experience, I help clients to be understood in any situation.
Not only do I love languages and they are what I am best at, but I also hold an MA degree in English language and literature and Spanish language and literature, as well as an MA degree in interpreting (Czech<->English, Czech<->Spanish).
However my education does not end there. During the academic year 2023/2024 I completed a course called “Juridikum” that consists of the basics of law and a seminar on Czech<->English translation of legal concepts and terms.
My knowledge of languages is not only academic though. I spent 6 years living and working in Spain. Ironically, not only did I improve my Spanish there, but thanks to quite a large population of native English speakers who move there for the sun, I also improved my English.
I also gained highly valuable work experience working e.g. for the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the Czech Ministry of Education.

I will be more than happy to create subtitles for your video or film. As subtitler I have created and proofread subtitles for some of the most prominent streaming services, having worked with subtitling tools such as Originator, Ooona and Subtitle Edit.

Unlike translators, interpreters do not really specialise. The craft of interpreting itself is already quite specific and the variety of topics at conferences where interpretation is necessary is very broad. If one goes to interpret a plant care course, they can be sure that besides plant terminology they will also need to use knowledge of chemistry and physics. Or that, when interpreting the best practices in social care, they will also use terminology from IT, virtual reality, psychology and management. Therefore the essential quality of an interpreter is diligent preparation. That is why before an event, I will need materials so that I can properly prepare (speakers’ presentations, notes, whatever the speakers will prepare in advance to present).
All of them :-). Fortunately at the Institute of Translation Studies at Charles University we received training in all types of interpretation, so I am happy to provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, as well as bilateral and whispered interpretation.
